PwC Wellington
PwC’s new Wellington workplace is located near the Kumutoto bridge section of Wellington’s waterfront spaced across three levels in the PwC Centre building.
The planning of the working environment is to promote a vibrant, open, agile and technology led workplace, through a series of neighbourhoods containing individual, independent, and collaborative work settings encouraging partners and staff to work in a more mobile way that works for them. The working floor area is designed with minimal built areas, maximising the ability to change the layout to suit future change and growth.
The elongated nature of the building envelope helped inform the concept of a “laneway”, connecting the workplace horizontally as a response to the building's typology. It is a place where people cross paths and touch base in an environment that is reflective of its positioning on the waterfront.
The material palette references the sites waterfront location, integrating raw material qualities of texture and colour to convey the idea of laneways. These are offset with warm timbers and brass elements to highlight places of arrival, connection, and refreshment in the workplace.
