Warren and Mahoney was engaged to undertake a comprehensive Workplace Strategy for Aurecon Christchurch. The brief was to create an extensive strategy which would inform the consolidation of staff from two disparate sites into a purpose-designed fitout over Levels 1 + 2 of the King Edward Barracks Building 01.
Working closely with the Aurecon, Warren and Mahoney helped to shape and define the key aspirations for the client and the project. These aspirations included; providing transparency and connectivity between both staff and clients; showcasing Aurecon’s engineering speciality; promoting a dynamic and collaborative culture and embracing the local and regional identity.
The key aspirations translated into the physical design of the built environment, with key features including: an inter-connecting stair to promote connectivity and unique engineering; generous collaboration spaces promoting alternate ways of working and providing choice and flexibility for staff; and a considered selection of materiality to provide a reference to the local landscape through texture and form.
