Collins Wharf 2 and 3, Melbourne

This project provides the opportunity to deliver a significant development on one of Melbourne’s most important and visible sites.

Located on the largest remaining finger wharf in the world, this 659-apartment development is configured as two articulated towers over a four-level podium reaching 28 and 29 storeys, conceived as an extension of Melbourne’s iconic Collins Street. The design is inspired by the unique waterfront location and and urban interface.

The design of this project references the site history and underlying urban fabric of Melbourne, embracing the precision of current construction technologies. It captures the urban grain and character of Melbourne city while referencing its maritime history and location. The solution boasts enduring quality that will resonate with residents and investors in the heart of the city.

The podium is broken into smaller geometrical forms providing a more human grain at street level. The mid-rise draws on the verticality of the CBD, while the high rise takes inspiration from the maritime heritage with the plan and facade inflection detailing transforming from a static to a dynamic facade. The material selection is light in colour and perception.
