Scott Compton

Head of Design Principal Specialist Auckland

Scott Compton is a designer at Warren and Mahoney with a uniquely tailored approach to interior design. He has extensive project experience in workplace, retail, hotels and hospitality having worked in the United Kingdom, China and New Zealand. Scott is focused on producing innovative environments for renowned brands such as TVNZ, Mediaworks, Sky City, Chapman Tripp and more recently Google.

Scott believes that good design can have a huge impact on everyday life and as a specialist in workplace design, he sees that everyone can change their quality of life via a good ‘place’ of work; a place that contributes to individual wellbeing rather than taking from it.

W+M workplaces offer generosity toward social spaces and community. These spaces are a cultural catalyst in every instance. Scott leads an interior design team with a focus on placemaking, creating a primary reason to come to work - to come together, to be productive and to share experiences in a meaningful way.

Scott leads with design processes that search and identify unique outcomes. He does not believe in preconceived stylistic outcomes, as every engagement is different, so there are endless possibilities to explore. Scott enjoys the journey of discovery, as ideas can come from anywhere and anyone. His role is to find the most appropriate idea for the task at hand and to magnify its potential.

Scott has led teams and projects both in Aotearoa and in Australia, many of which have national and international acclaim in awards. Having established a presence in Australia, Scott is working with some of the most influential brands such as Google and Dexus.

In 2021, Scott was appointed Co-Head of Design in Warren and Mahoney's Auckland studio to continue to support a wider network of design initiatives, broaden W+M’s design culture and grow the next generation of design leaders in the organisation.
