Richard Weinman

Principal Melbourne

Richard joined Warren and Mahoney as Principal of the Melbourne studio in 2016. In over 25 years of architectural practice, Richard has lived and worked in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Dubai and Colombo. This experience gained in working across a variety of architectural, planning and social environments has allowed Richard to adapt his design and project management skills across a wide range of architectural typologies to consistently deliver outstanding outcomes on landmark projects. He was formerly the Lifestyle Sector Practice Leader at Woods Bagot’s Sydney studio.

Richard’s extensive experience in the Melbourne and Sydney markets, combined with his international experience, are key factors in his ability to create innovative architectural and masterplanning solutions. His expertise lies in his ability to guide complex buildings through design competition and subsequent development consent processes in order to achieve successful planning outcomes in tandem with design excellence. His design portfolio encompasses the multi-residential, culture and community, mixed-use, sport, retail and masterplanning and urban design sectors.

Richard’s design philosophy is principally informed by a desire to create architecture that is engaging, functional and of authentic value to the people who experience it.

He retains a fundamental interest in architectural education and is actively involved in tutoring undergraduate architects and interior designers.
