From May 6 through May 23, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) has opened the doors to Discover New, an artfully curated, time-bound retail experience designed by Warren and Mahoney.
Spanning fashion, lifestyle, beauty, homewares and childrenswear, Discover New in Australia's premium shopping destination Chadstone the Fashion Capital, is a limited-edition showcase designed by Warren and Mahoney and curated by Dot Dot Dash. This Australian-first concept has New Zealand touch points across many aspects including the design, fit-out and furnishings.
Shoppers and visitors will have the chance to discover, uncover, and explore premium brands from global icons such as Karen Walker and Kate Sylvester, and up-and-coming designer brands including Yu Mei, Ashley & Co, Meadowlark, Crywolf and Tailor Skincare.
"New Zealand has a rich design culture that rivals the best in the world," says NZTE Trade Commissioner, Vanessa O'Neill. "There is a unique perspective that New Zealanders bring that's fresh and constantly challenging convention, so the opportunity for our two economies and people to work together is compelling."
The Discover New space is inspired by the New Zealand landscape, capturing the essence in colour and texture. Volcanic sand, rugged alpine, green valley – these are the tones that bring the space to life and create a retail presence that is closely informed by the New Zealand environment.
"After almost a year of meticulous planning and design, we are thrilled to unveil a space alive with our country's heartbeat" says Warren and Mahoney Principal, Daryl Maguire.
"Our concept pays homage to the striking New Zealand landscape. Apparel will be housed in the dark and moody 'volcanic sand' zone, accessories set against the earthy neutral backdrop of 'rugged alpine', and lifestyle products will be heroed in the verdant 'green valley'. Every touch point tells a story."
The retail experience offers a tactile glimpse into the window of contemporary and sustainably led New Zealand design. Discover New is perfect for discerning shoppers looking to discover new brands and luxury design. Visitors can purchase products in store or online, with a number of ranges available in Australia for the first time.
