Te Matakīrea Advanced Indigenous Design Unit

Te Matakīrea, the Warren and Mahoney Advanced Indigenous Design Unit was established to deliver outcomes that are truly reflective of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Te Matakīrea is led by a generation of indigenous architects, designers and collaborators that work with stakeholders to engage in much deeper conversation around the recognition of Mana Whenua values and aspirations.

About the role:

We seek a Te Matakīrea Coordinator to provide support and coordination to the Te Matakīrea Lead and the wider team.

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing administrative support to the Te Matakīrea Lead, which includes diary management, travel bookings, taking minutes at meetings, etc
  • Organising meetings, conferences, and events for the overall Te Matakīrea Team
  • Coordinating Kaupapa Māori Centred events across the studios, including Mihi Whakatau, leading waiata, karakia, Matariki and Māori Language week celebrations.
  • Assisting with monitoring and reporting the passive mentorship with potential cultural design managers with the Te Matakīrea Lead and Studio Heads of Design
  • Undertaking market research, particularly focused on current and potential clients and partners, and relevant entities we may want to collaborate with.
  • Working closely with Te Matakīrea Lead(s), Marketing, and the boarder Warren and Mahoney team to support activities around submissions and presentations
  • Assisting in the development and updating of Te Matakīrea related print and digital collateral including support for te reo.
  • Managing and updating the CRM
  • Promoting and supporting the acquisition and usage of Te Reo me ōnā Tikanga Māori across our studio.
  • Support Learning and Development team with developing Te Matakīrea Skillshare and identifying Cultural Competency Training opportunities.
What experience/skills you will have:
  • Fluency (or strong proficiency) in te reo Māori is essential.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing or graphic design is preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant experience preferred but not essential.
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in InDesign is desirable.
  • Experience producing promotional and marketing material and/or submission documents is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic Executive Assistant to support three executive team members, based in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity working alongside a talented team of architects and designers in a creative studio setting.

You will be responsible for:
  • Correspondence and diary management
  • Coordinating and preparing reports and presentations
  • Assisting with project invoicing, timesheets and expense reconciliation
  • Co-ordinating and booking domestic and international travel
  • Communicating with CEO and equivalent roles at client and stakeholder organisations
  • Event planning
  • Research and special projects
What experience/skills you will have:
  • 8+ year’s relevant experience with at least 4+ years’ experience as a an Executive Assistant
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Experience in professional services, Board processes and using In-Design and Diligent Board software is desirable but not essential
  • Be a very strong relationship builder
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Have a proactive, responsive and can-do attitude
  • Be able to multi-task to work in this ever-evolving environment
  • Have some experience in event management
  • Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Have excellent computer literacy

About the role:

We seek a well-rounded Interior Designer who loves the technical detailing, delivering and bringing the design to life to join our Sydney studio. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion to demonstrate your capability in further developing design this is the role for you! This will be a great opportunity to develop as a leader.

What experiences/skills you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience leading aspects of projects
  • 5-8 years’ experience working on complex projects
  • Focus on interiors or workplace preferred
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience
  • Strong documentation and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp and InDesign
  • Technical excellence in BIM
  • Proficiency in electronic document development
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and/or stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and legislation
  • Strong communication skills

About the role:

We seek an energetic Submissions Coordinator to drive the development and execution of submissions, bids, tenders, and other client engagement collateral.

This is an exciting position, to join the fastest growing architecture firm in Australasia where the management of sophisticated pursuits is required to create innovative and creative service solutions for our clients. You will be working directly with principals, architects, and designers, as well as other members of a high performing business development team.

The role will suit a person that thrives working on strategic bids, presentations, and capability statements, and that takes personal ownership for the quality of work presented to clients.

You will be responsible for:
  • Coordinating the submissions preparation process from identification through to delivery and taking personal responsibility for driving high quality client focused proposals
  • Creating engaging content, presentations, and collateral
  • Adding to the creative culture of the studio
  • Facilitating engagement with professional networks and memberships
  • Maintaining a CRM database with proposal, organisation, contact and market intelligence
  • Driving continuous improvement and contributing to new ideas and ways to improve our business development and client experience
  • Assisting with general marketing and communications duties

Skills required:
  • Previous experience in business writing and/or bid writing
  • Proven ability in planning, producing and delivering proposal documents
  • Competent in InDesign
  • Ability to write succinctly and persuasively with creative flair, high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in a professional services environment (preferred)
  • A passion for design and/or the build environment
  • Proven proposal management experience
  • Tertiary qualification in design, marketing or related field (preferred)
  • Experience using a leading CRM
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management skills

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Site Architect to lead a significant project in Dunedin. You will liaise with clients, contractors and consultants and be responsible for resolving construction issues in a team environment.

What experiences/skills you will have:
  • 10+ years’ experience with a tertiary qualification in architecture or
  • 10+ years’ experience in construction or an allied sector
  • Technically focused and proficient in the use of Revit
  • Experience in the health sector or working with District Health Boards or private health providers is a plus
  • Complex site observation experience
  • Previously led and delivered large projects
  • Has the ability to develop, maintain and lead successful client relationships
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential
  • Preference for ‘experience in sustainable design and delivery’
